How to Replace the Car Door Lock

This video tutorial shows how to replace the car door lock. Get into the vehicle, turn off the engine, pull the handbrake, and remove the key. To access the lock, you need to remove the door trims. You can find the fastening elements behind the door handle or along the perimeter of the panel (use trim removal tools to take off the covers). Remove the fasteners with a spanner. The panel is secured with screws and clips, so once all screws are removed, pull the panel to detach the clips. Disconnect the connectors from behind the panel, then remove the panel. If there is an insulating panel, remove that as well. Once you have access to the lock, detach the cables that obstruct removal. Unscrew the lock's fastening elements and remove it from its housing. Replace the old lock with a new one and reassemble all parts in reverse order.
