Reasons Why a Car Won't Start

Why won't a car start? The first reason could be the battery; if you insert the key and the car is dead, then the battery is gone. If the starter is good, the engine turns over well, and the lights are not dim, check if you see smoke from the exhaust. In diesel engines, you will see black smoke; in petrol engines, you can smell petrol from the exhaust; the fuel system is working, but there is no power getting through. It could be a problem with the spark plugs or glow plugs. Alternatively, if you don't smell petrol and don't see any smoke, it means fuel is not getting through; you may have run out of diesel (or petrol), the pump inside the tank may be stuck, or the injectors may not be opening.
