How to Check if Your Car's Clutch is Worn

In this video, see how to check if your manual car's clutch is worn. There are two very simple methods: the first is while driving at around 2,500 RPM. Press the clutch and increase the engine revs, then release the clutch. If the engine continues to rev, it means the clutch is starting to wear. Downshift gradually. The lower the gear at which this happens, the more worn the clutch will be. The second method: press the clutch pedal fully, put it in first gear, and visually check where it engages as you slowly lift the pedal. The higher it engages, the greater the wear on the clutch. There are also two types of clutch issues: slipping and chattering. Slipping occurs when the clutch is worn out, while chattering happens when it is contaminated with oil, possibly due to a failing release bearing, or if the flywheel is oval.
