(Various brands) Various - Video tutorial
Model: (Various brands) Various
In this video, we will see what to check before buying a car with the N47 engine. Let's start with the questions to ask the seller: how often has the car been serviced? Has the timing chain been replaced? This is the weak point of the car, so it is the most important thing to know. Has the diesel filter been changed? It would also be interesting to know something about the driving style of the previous owner. We will then visually inspect the engine compartment, which tends to leak oil: so we remove the engine cover. Most leaks come from the oil/water heat exchanger or the valve cover. We try to understand if any work has been done on the DPF. We can tell from the exhaust, at the rear. The airbox of the air filter can also give us an indication. If it is very dirty, no maintenance has been done. If you see a lot of black sludge inside the oil filler cap, it means that maintenance has not been done here either. Also, check the oil density; if it is too thick, on an N47 engine, with the chain problems it has, it is not a good sign. There are also stationary acoustic tests: if the chain is worn, it makes a slight tinkling noise near the rubber. If it makes strange noises in the front part with the hood open. Unscrew the radiator cap. The water should not boil, and it should not be under pressure. When you accelerate, try to listen to the noise the turbo makes: if it makes a dull noise, it is not good. During the test drive, perform a low gear acceleration, it should not make dull noises. At low gear, the car should rev smoothly, otherwise, the DPF could be full. Then try to accelerate to 4800 RPM on a straight road, if there is a problem with the high-pressure pump CP4, the engine malfunction light will come on. The major problems are the timing chain, the turbo, and the high-pressure system.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHow to set the time in the Renault Megane? As we can see in this tutorial, setting the time in the Renault Megane 3 is very simple. This operation must be carried out after being left with the battery on the ground or following the transition to summer and winter time. Let's start by turning on the instrument panel, then enter the settings menu with the relative button on the center console and select the "System settings" item using the knob. Subsequently, we enter the "Clock" section at the top and proceed with changing the time as needed, using the same keys. Finally, let's go back to the main screen. by ScegliAuto More videos
