In this video, see how to remove and refit a fuel pump: once you have taken the pump out of its housing, open the clips on the sides of the body so that the spring and internal mechanism can come out. Removing the internal piston will be quite a laborious task.

It is not easy to provide a valid indication for purchasing the replacement part, as it largely depends on the vehicle you are working on. In fact, we found pistons online that cost at least double the entire internal assembly of the fuel pump, so it is important to know which pump you are referring to. Reassembling it is paradoxically easier, as the joints have already been opened, so simply tighten the various clips well and replace them where necessary.

Our advice is to replace the entire internal assembly, as this ensures a better job and eliminates the risk of any component being loose. Now, place the internal assembly back into its shell and lower the pump back into the fuel.
