How to Change the Oil and Filter on a VW Polo

Changing the engine oil and its filter is one of the easiest DIY maintenance tasks, but you must ensure proper disposal of the waste. Once the car is positioned on suitable axle stands to facilitate access to the underside of the engine, remove the splash guard and locate the drain plug on the oil sump. After draining the used oil, access the engine bay, remove the cover, and locate the filter seat next to the throttle body. Proceed to replace the cartridge and the associated seals, then fill the engine with new oil up to the maximum level.
