In this video, we can see where the battery is located in a Volkswagen Crafter van and how to proceed if you need to replace it. As shown, the battery is not in the usual engine bay location but inside the cabin, beneath the plastic cover in front of the driver's seat.

To access it and replace it, start by opening the door, then lift the cover and, using a Torx T30 key, unscrew the four securing bolts to open the cover.

Next, disconnect both terminals, unscrew the bolt of the securing bracket, and remove the battery from its housing.
