How to replace the timing belt and water pump of the Volkswagen Passat B8

Today we will explain how to replace the water pump and timing belt of the Volkswagen Passat model B 8 on your own. We lift the car on a jack and remove the front right wheel and the front left wheel, then we also remove the wheel arch liners. We remove the lower and upper engine covers and using a torque wrench we loosen the belt tensioner pulley, then complete the removal by unscrewing it by hand. We perform the timing by locking the belt on the camshaft. We remove the belt and insert the new one. We disconnect the water pump connector and unscrew the screw at the base. We remove the pump and insert the new one.
