How to change the light bulbs in the Volkswagen Golf.

To replace the Xenon bulb on a Volkswagen Golf, work with the lights off and cool, on a level surface, and with the handbrake engaged. For safety, disconnect the negative terminal of the battery and wait a few minutes: Xenon systems use high voltage and should be handled with care. Open the hood and locate the back of the affected headlight. If the space behind the headlight assembly is limited, it may be necessary to create access by partially removing covers and, in some cases, disassembling the headlight (a process that usually requires loosening the mounting screws and disconnecting the headlight connector after freeing any parts that hinder removal).
