How to replace oil and filter on a Volkswagen Up? Here’s how to proceed with the replacement: lift the car on a column lift and unscrew the oil sump plug, allowing the oil to drain into a container (tighten the plug after draining). Using a socket wrench, unscrew the oil filter, remove it, and position a new one, ensuring it fits well around the thread. Lower the car back to the ground, then open the car door and pull up the engine compartment release lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard and lift the front bonnet, securing it. Remove the cap on the engine head and top up with new oil.
