How to change the engine oil and filter on a Volkswagen Up! petrol.

To quickly change the oil on a gasoline Volkswagen Up!, it is always advisable to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery and open the oil filler cap to facilitate draining. Raise the front of the car and place it on jack stands, then unscrew the oil drain plug and let it drain out: we will dispose of the used oil and filter at an authorized center. The filter is located at the top of the engine, easily accessible from above; place a container underneath the filter as oil will also drip from here. Clean the seating area and prepare the new filter by applying clean oil to the new gasket. Then screw the new filter on by hand until the gasket touches the seating; tighten it by 3/4 of a turn by hand, without damaging the gasket. Go back under the vehicle and replace the gasket and new plug on the oil pan: Lower the car and pour in about 90% of the oil tank's capacity (strictly adhere to the oil recommended by the manufacturer) and close the cap. Start the engine for 30 to 60 seconds to fill the filter, then turn it off and wait 5 to 10 minutes for all the oil to return to the pan. Measure and adjust the level until it is just below the "max" level.
