How to Service the Volkswagen Up! 1.0 CNG

Replace the engine oil and oil filter on a Volkswagen Up! 1.0 CNG. Use synthetic oil SAE 5W40. A strap wrench is needed to remove the oil filter. First, unscrew the upper oil cap and lift the dipstick. Then, raise the vehicle using a jack and axle stands. Do not rely solely on your jack. Locate the filter and the sump plug (just behind the bumper) and use a container to collect the used oil for proper disposal at an authorised centre. Allow the oil to drain and simultaneously remove the oil filter, which will also leak some oil. Once all the oil has drained (this takes about an hour), replace the plug (it is advisable to change the gasket) and install the new filter, ensuring the seat is clean. Tighten it by hand; do not over-tighten. Now, fill the oil reservoir. Meanwhile, check the coolant and windscreen washer fluid. The job is done.
