In this guide, we will discover the procedure for removing and replacing the timing belt on a Volkswagen Golf 1.4 TSI. First, open the engine bonnet and start by removing the air filter box and the intake hose; then remove the coolant reservoir and the engine mount, thus gaining access to the timing cover.

At this point, disconnect the coolant pipe to access the timing belt; replace it by installing the new original components.
