Thermostat Replacement for Golf 4

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf IV, MK 4, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003

Is the thermostat faulty? Follow these steps to replace the part. Remove the cylinder head cover panel, disconnect the hoses near the thermostat. Unscrew the bolts on the thermostat hose cap as shown in the video (use a socket spanner with the appropriate sockets), pull off the sealing cap and extract the coolant thermostat from its housing. Once the part is removed, replace it with a new one and close the compartment with the cap. Tighten the bolts properly and you're done. Fit the thermostat correctly into the appropriate housing. Cover with the cylinder head cover panel.
