Replacing the CV Boot on a Volkswagen Golf

After lifting the car, removing the wheel, and disassembling the suspension system, you can remove the entire CV axle. At this point, we will show you how to remove the CV boot. On the inner side, the rubber cover is held in place by a metal tie that must be removed by prying with a screwdriver and, if necessary, a hammer. Do the same on the opposite side, then cut it in two parts for removal. You can extract the oscillating bearing that holds the splined axle in place. Position the new cover, and by following the steps in reverse, you can reassemble everything.
