Complete Dashboard Removal

Model: Volkswagen Passat 3BG, B5 - Years 1996-2005

To remove the dashboard, open the glove compartment and remove the upper plastic trim. To avoid leaving marks, use a plastic tool to also remove the trim on the steering wheel side. Unscrew all screws located beneath the trims. Unscrew by pulling upwards the cover of the steering lock and unscrew the screws located beneath the instrumentation. Unscrew the screws located at the sides of the dashboard beneath the door seals and remove the corresponding plastic plugs. Unscrew the screws located on the air vents and the screw located at the centre of the dashboard near the windscreen. Remove the rubber seals from the doors and detach the trims located at the sides of the pillars. To detach the trims, insert a screwdriver underneath them and lever against the plastic retaining clips. Lower the steering wheel as much as possible and pull out the dashboard.
