Rear Wheel Bearing Replacement

Model: Volkswagen Bora MK 6 - Years 1998-2005

Lift the vehicle on a hydraulic lift; do not remove the rear wheel but remove the protective cap from the central hub nut, the split pin, and unscrew the central nut to remove the complete wheel with the hub. Next, proceed to disassemble the bearing: it consists of two roller cages (an inner and an outer) and a seal. Remove the seal, extract the roller cages and their respective raceways from inside the hub hole (use a punch to extract them), ensuring to clean the bearing seat thoroughly. Install the new raceways (inner and outer) by pressing them into the hub hole with a pad; insert the roller cages, then the seal, and grease generously. Clean the inside of the hub of any grease residues that could compromise braking efficiency, reassemble the complete wheel with the hub, tightening the respective nut, inserting the split pin, and finally replacing the cap.
