Guide to Replacing the Water Pump

Changing the water pump on your car can be a bit complicated, but with some effort and good will, you can manage it. This operation requires maximum care to avoid damaging your vehicle. First, locate the water pump, then remove the cover where the belt is located and lock the toothed flywheel to prevent it from moving during subsequent operations. Finally, remove the tensioner bearing for the belt, and then slide the toothed belt out of its tracks. To extract the water pump, you will need to remove the four screws on it. Before replacing it with a new one, clean the engine block to eliminate any residue of sealant.
