Replacing Fuel Pump on Volkswagen Passat and Audi A4

Model: Volkswagen Passat 3BG, B5 - Years 1996-2005
Part: Fuel pump

The procedure is the same for the Audi A4 produced in the same years. The fuel pump is located under the right rear seat, so fold it forward and move it to access it. Unscrew the cross-head screws securing the cover. Disconnect the connector by prying at the bottom. Using a flat screwdriver, break the two metal clips holding the pump lines, then disconnect the lines by pushing them with the screwdriver. At this point, disconnect the underlying lines and connectors. Remove the pump and proceed in reverse for the installation of the new one. Good luck!
