Front Shock Absorber Replacement

Model: Volkswagen Bora MK 6 - Years 1998-2005

Lift the vehicle on a ramp and remove the front wheel and the nut securing the strut to the support inside the engine bay; disconnect the brake wear sensor cable and unscrew the shock absorber mounting bolt at the hub. Then remove the mounting bolts of the wishbone and the central nut of the driveshaft to free the shock absorber from the support bracket. Once on the bench, use clamps to compress the spring and remove it from the shock absorber, then fit it onto the new one; it is advisable to also replace the upper support bush. Proceed in reverse order for installation back on the vehicle.
