Part: Bodywork
Operation: How to remove the tank of the Volkswagen Transporter T2

The guide shows you how to remove the fuel tank of the Volkswagen Transporter T2. Before carrying out the operation it is necessary to disconnect the vehicle battery. Once the tank has been drained as much as possible, you can proceed with the operation. Lift the Transporter to continue and remove the fire bulkhead. Once the hydraulic hose connected to the tank has been disconnected, drain the remaining fuel into a suitable container. Unscrew, with a 13 mm wrench, the two retaining bands of the tank and the pressure relief pipes. Disconnect the supply hose and, after moving the tank slightly, disconnect the pump hose and the earth hose. Completely remove the tank. Before installing the new tank, replace the existing pipes and connectors. Insert the tank, connect all cables and tighten it in place. Refit the fire protection bulkhead and lower the vehicle.
