How to Replace the Door Lock on a Volkswagen Tiguan

To replace the door lock on a Volkswagen Tiguan, you must first remove the panel; to do this, lift the plastic cover of the internal handle and loosen the screws underneath. The other screws to remove are located at the bottom and side of the panel. After the panel is removed, you will also need to take off the inner panel to extract the lock. Unscrew the side bolt near the external handle to free the lock, which can then be pulled out from the inside and disconnected from its connector.
