Today, you will learn how to remove the thermostat from a Volkswagen Golf 1.6 16 valve, fourth generation. First, lift the vehicle and remove the plastic cover found under the engine by unscrewing all the securing screws; then remove the coolant hose by disconnecting the clip and draining all the fluid into a container.

At this point, access the engine bay to remove the mounting bolts of the thermostat housing using a ratchet spanner; now remove the thermostat and replace it with the new one, as shown in the video!
