Changing the engine oil in your car is not as difficult as it may seem and can be done by yourself without causing damage. First, find out what type of oil your car requires; there are different types, but you must use the specific one to avoid damaging the engine. You can then proceed to remove the old oil by lifting the car with a jack and gently unscrewing the oil drain plug. Next, add the new oil by unscrewing the cap on the engine head. Once filled, wipe the area around the cap and run the engine for a few minutes to thoroughly lubricate the new oil.
