Turbocharger Disassembly Instructions

Model: Volkswagen Jetta A4, MK 4 - Years 1998-2005

It is recommended to perform this operation with the engine cold, as you will be handling components near the exhaust manifold where the turbocharger is connected. Once the engine has cooled, lift the vehicle on suitable axle stands, remove part of the intake ducts, and access the turbine from underneath the vehicle to disassemble the air supply duct and the lubrication pipe. Remove the pipe that carries exhaust gases from the manifold to the turbine and then the manifold itself. Finally, extract the complete exhaust manifold with the turbine.
