Repairing the Glove Compartment Door Hinges

Model: Volkswagen Golf MK 5, Golf 5, Golf V - Years 2003-2008

If the hinges of the glove compartment door break, you can find an aftermarket repair kit that replaces the plastic ribs with appropriately shaped metal elements that are very simple to install. Once you have removed the glove compartment from the dashboard and taken off the door, eliminate any protruding plastic residue from the respective seats of the elements to be replaced, position the new brackets and mark the fixing hole points with a marker, drill holes with a 2mm bit, position and secure the brackets with the supplied self-tapping screws; then place the door back in its seat and secure the hinges with the corresponding pins.
