Check the Reverse Light Switch

If the reverse lights do not illuminate when engaging reverse gear, first ensure that the bulbs are functioning and that voltage is reaching the respective lamp holders: if there is no voltage, it is likely an issue with the reverse light switch. This switch is located on the gearbox, near the gear levers, just below the battery compartment; to assess its functionality, disconnect the connector and check its closure with reverse engaged using a multimeter set to the 200K Ohm scale, touching the switch contacts with the probes.
