Instructions for Replacing the Brake Caliper

Replacing the brake caliper is not a frequent maintenance task, but in the case of cars that drive on snowy roads treated with salt during winter, the corrosive action can damage the calipers, just as frequent braking can overheat the brake fluid to the point of compromising the seals of the caliper itself; to replace the caliper, lift the vehicle, remove the front wheel, disconnect the brake fluid hose, and unscrew the caliper mounting bolts after removing the protective caps; insert the brake pads into the new caliper, secure it to the respective support, and connect the brake fluid hose; then bleed the system to eliminate any air bubbles.
