How to Remove the Ignition Switch from the Volkswagen Jetta?

To remove the ignition switch from the Volkswagen Jetta, first, loosen the clips securing the airbag at the centre of the steering wheel, allowing it to be removed by disconnecting the underlying connectors. Once the airbag is removed, loosen the central nut securing the steering wheel: this must also be removed to access the plastics surrounding the steering column. Once these plastics are removed, you can access the ignition switch, which must be detached from its housing by unscrewing the securing screws and disconnecting the power cables.
