Replacing the battery in the key fob of a Volkswagen Passat, as shown in this tutorial, is an extremely simple and quick operation. You will need a replacement CR2032 battery and, if necessary, a small flat-head screwdriver. First, press the indicated button and extract the emergency key, then unclip the upper metal edge by pushing it outwards. Next, lever in the indicated slot, separate the two halves of the key fob, and remove the battery. At this point, simply insert the replacement and follow the reverse procedure.
