Replacing Front Suspension Links

Model: Volvo S70 MK 1 - Years 1996-2000

Damage to the links manifests as pronounced noise over uneven surfaces and can be checked by seeing if the ends of the links have play. Lift the vehicle on a lift and remove the front wheels (it is not necessary to remove the discs and brake calipers). Unscrew the fixing nuts of the link from both the shock absorber and the anti-roll bar, blocking the link's pin with a hex key. Then, remove the old link and replace it with a new one: to tighten the fixing nuts, always block the pin with the hex key. Finally, reassemble the wheel.
