Removal of Dashboard and Instrument Cluster

Model: Volvo S70 MK 1 - Years 1996-2000

The first step is to disconnect the power supply by removing the negative terminal of the battery. Using a plastic tool, remove the air vents and all various inserts present on the dashboard. Also remove the glove compartment on the passenger side. Using a Torx key, unscrew all the hidden retaining screws under the inserts just removed. Once the screws are removed, you can take off the upper part of the dashboard and access the electrical connections of the instrument cluster, which should be removed carefully. Now you can remove the instrument cluster to replace any bulbs or carry out repairs.
