Removing the Center Console

Model: Volvo Xc90 MK 1 - Years 2002-2014

Using a plastic tool to avoid damaging the body, pry at the base of the console around the transmission to release the plastic clips and move it to access the retaining screws of the glove compartment. Remove the center console by gently lifting it upward and disconnect the cigarette lighter connector. Move the gear shift lever to the center position and gently push up the frame and the gear shift boot, simultaneously rocking the shift knob in circular motions while pulling it upward until it is completely removed. Remove the ashtray drawer by detaching it from the plastic clips at the bottom.
