Volvo V50 - Video tutorial

Model: Volvo V50 MK 1 - Years 2004-2012
Part: Valve
Operation: Turbo control valve replacement or cleaning

Open the bonnet and remove the engine protection cover by simply lifting it up. Locate the valve and disconnect the electrical contacts. For disassembly you need a ratchet wrench and pliers. Unscrew the upper and lower sealing nut taking care to drop them. Remove the valve and disconnect the two pipes connected to it, marking their position to avoid inverting them during assembly. Remove the valve and remove the filter by unscrewing it gently using pliers. Remove the filter from the support and clean it by washing it repeatedly and dry it with compressed air. It is recommended to replace it. Put the filter back into the holder and press the holder onto the valve until it locks. Reassemble the valve paying attention to the position of the pipes. Reconnect the cables.
