Removing the EGR Valve from the Volvo V50 1.6D

In this brief and simple guide, discover how to remove and replace the EGR valve on the Volvo V50 with a 1.6D engine. First, open the bonnet and locate the EGR valve at the rear of the engine block (behind the fuel filter). Next, disconnect the exhaust emission pipe from the EGR valve and also disconnect its electrical connector. At this point, remove the valve and clean it with appropriate degreasers; if the valve is malfunctioning, proceed directly with the replacement.
