How to remove the EGR valve on a Volvo V50? Lift the bonnet and secure it, then remove the engine soundproofing panel; using a screwdriver, undo the locking bolts of the pipe. Remove the securing bolts of the EGR valve as shown in the video (if there are issues: remove the plastics on the side). Once the part is detached from its seat, use a screwdriver to undo the screws on it (if it needs cleaning). Start cleaning the valve using a suitable mechanical parts cleaner, and use a brush to assist in the process. Refit the part after cleaning or install a new one.
