Replacing Brake Discs and Brake Pads

Model: Volvo S60 MK 1 - Years 2000-2009

Remove the brake caliper using a ratchet wrench by unscrewing the two rear bolts.
Disassemble the caliper bracket in the same way. Use a wrench to unscrew the two retaining bolts of the disc while holding it steady. If the disc is stuck, use a rubber mallet and tap it until it completely comes off the hub. Clean the bracket thoroughly from debris using a deoxidizing spray. Clean the new discs before installation to remove the preservation grease. Apply copper paste around the disc bracket to prevent seizing due to oxidation or rust. Reinstall the disc aligning the mounting holes. For securing the bracket and caliper, use new bolts if possible; otherwise, clean and lubricate the old ones. Clean with a wire brush to remove most of the accumulated dirt. Reset the piston to its starting position and install the new pads. Reattach the caliper and the wheel.
