Replacing the worn filter on an Alfa Romeo 159? Here's how to replace the filter. Open the car door and pull up the engine compartment release lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard, then lift the front bonnet and unscrew the oil cap. Lift the car on a jack and using a socket spanner, unscrew the oil filter holder. Extract the worn oil filter and position a new one. Unscrew the bolt of the oil sump (if you want to replace the oil); let the fluid drain into a container. Fill the engine with new oil and close the front bonnet.
