On the Alfa Romeo 147 1.9 JTD, as well as on all other models equipped with the same or similar engine, it is possible to clean the EGR valve without needing to dismantle it. Follow this tutorial to proceed. For this operation, you will need the special additive shown in the video, or an equivalent spray. Start by warming the engine to about 90 degrees, then turn it off, disconnect the intake manifold from the throttle body, and start it again. At this point, spray the entire canister inside at regular intervals while another person maintains around 1500 RPM. Once the product is finished, turn off the engine and reconnect the manifold.
