BMW Serie 3 - Video tutorial

Model: BMW Serie 3 E36 - Years 1990-2001
Part: Anti roll bar
Operation: Front anti-roll bar installation

Raise the car on a lift and remove the stone guard, extracting the front pressure fasteners with a wire cutter and unscrewing the other screws present. Once the casing has been removed, the anti-roll bar (in front of the steering box) fixed to the frame through two lateral supports (with rubber coating) and connected to the heads of the connecting rods near the wheel hub supports is immediately visible. In order to remove the nut fixing the connecting rod to the anti-roll bar, it is necessary to lock the pin of the head itself with a wrench (which can be 16 mm, 17 mm or 18 mm) which, however, must be sufficiently thin to be inserted between the bar and head: if necessary, file a standard wrench. Once the bar has been released from the two heads, disassemble the fixing nuts of the two lateral metal supports and remove them by levering them with a fixed medium-sized screwdriver: at this point, extract the bar from the two rubber supports and remove the supports themselves. Before installing the new bar, lubricate the new rubber blocks with grease, both internally and externally; apply the metal supports to the new grommets and connect the new bar first to the frame and then to the heads of the connecting rods (to tighten the fixing nuts, always lock the head pin with the appropriate wrench).

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
