Installation of Front Anti-Roll Bar

Model: BMW Serie 3 E36 - Years 1990-2001

Lift the vehicle on a lift and remove the splash shield by extracting the front pressure retaining clips with wire cutters and unscrewing the other screws present.
Once the splash shield is removed, the anti-roll bar (in front of the steering box) is immediately visible, secured to the frame through two side supports (with rubber coating) and connected to the ends of the links near the wheel hub supports.
To remove the nut securing the link to the anti-roll bar, block the pin of the link end with a wrench (which can be 16 mm, 17 mm, or 18 mm) that must be thin enough to fit between the bar and the end: you may need to grind down a standard wrench.
Once the bar is freed from the two ends, remove the nuts securing the two side metal supports and take them out using a medium-sized flat screwdriver: at this point, extract the bar from the two rubber supports and remove the supports themselves.
Before installing the new bar, lubricate the new rubber bushings with grease, both inside and outside; attach the metal supports to the new bushings and connect the new bar first to the frame and then to the ends of the links (to tighten the securing nuts, always block the pin of the link end with the appropriate wrench).
