Location and Replacement of the Fuel Filter on the BMW X2

In this video, you can see how to replace the fuel filter on a BMW X2: it is located under the vehicle on the right side and is held in place by a bracket. To access it, lift the vehicle and remove the cover underneath; at the top of the filter housing, there are two fuel line connectors (green for the inlet and red for the outlet) and an electrical sensor for water detection, with a smaller connector. Remember that the fuel system is under pressure, so work in a well-ventilated area, away from heat sources, and wear safety glasses. The safest solution is to remove the fuel pump relay and then run the engine until it stalls; lift the vehicle and place it on jack stands, clean the area around the filter, disconnect the connectors, and prepare plugs or plastic wrap to close the fuel lines. Disconnect the electrical connector, unlock the bracket, lower the filter housing, and replace only the filter cartridge and the gasket; reconnect the fuel connectors before restarting, fill the filter with new fuel before restarting. Reinstall the engine cover and lower the vehicle. Insert the key and turn the ignition on for 2 to 3 times to allow the fuel pump to pressurize the system.
