Follow this procedure to reset the service light on a BMW 330e (or any recent BMW with the iDrive system) using the BC button. Turn on the instrument cluster by pressing the start button three times in a row (without pressing the brake).

This puts the car in "diagnostic" mode or "terminal 15". Press and hold the "BC" button on the outer side of the turn signal lever for about 10 seconds. After a few seconds, a triangle icon or a message will appear on the instrument cluster.

Continue holding until the "service" or "reset" menu appears. Navigate through the services using the "BC" button with previous presses to scroll through the various maintenance items: engine oil, inspection, brakes (front and rear), brake fluid, spark plugs, emissions check.

When you reach the desired item, press the "BC" button for 5/10 seconds and "reset possible" will appear. Release and then press the button again until you see "reset in progress" and then a confirmation icon.

Release the button and the service menu will close automatically.
