How to Reset the Service Light on the BMW 1 Series?

Model: BMW Serie 1 E81, E82, MK 1, E87 - Years 2004-2013
Part: Service warning light

To reset the Service light on the BMW 1 Series, turn the key to switch on the instrument cluster while holding down the button located on the left side of the cluster. Keep it pressed until the triangle icon with an exclamation mark changes to the oil icon. At this point, press the BC button on the stalk to the left of the steering wheel, then switch off the instrument cluster. When you turn it back on, you will see that the Service light is no longer present and will not illuminate until maintenance is due again.
