How to Replace the LEDs in the Instrument Cluster on a BMW 1 Series

In this video tutorial, you can see how to replace the LEDs in the instrument cluster of a BMW 1 Series. The first step is to get inside the vehicle and engage the handbrake, then lower the steering wheel. Using a Torx key size 2, remove the screws in the dashboard above the instrument cluster; once the screws are removed, use a small flathead screwdriver to insert it into the gap and pull the instrument cluster towards you. Next, disconnect the connector located behind the instrument cluster (press and pull down the lever). Now pull out the instrument cluster, then remove the needles using a spoon; once the needles are removed, take care not to damage the dials. Remove the dials by taking off the clips, remove the plastic plates, and now you can replace the LEDs.
