How to Replace the Timing Chain on a BMW 3 Series?

To replace the timing chain on a BMW 3 Series, open the hood to access the bolts securing the valve cover at the top of the engine block. You will also need to remove the air filter box to reach the camshaft pulleys. Then, from the bottom of the engine block, loosen the center nut of the crankshaft pulley to reduce the tension on the chain, allowing for its removal. At this point, insert the new chain into its housing, reassembling all the disassembled parts.
