How to Replace the Oil Filter on a BMW 3 Series

Model: BMW Serie 3 E91, E90, E92 - Years 2005-2013

Disconnect and lift the hood. Now remove the engine cover by simply lifting it and detaching it from the clips underneath. Using the appropriate size socket, remove the filter located at the top right of the engine. Next, proceed with the oil change by first draining the old oil from the oil pan. Then remove the lower engine cover, unscrew the oil pan plug, and prepare a container to collect the old oil. Finally, install the new filter, replug the oil pan, and add new oil through the designated opening.
