Part: Oil filter
Operation: Replacing oil and oil filter on Chevrolet Captiva

The replacement of the oil filter is an operation that must be associated with the engine oil change, in fact first of all it will be necessary to empty the engine of used oil, to do this it will be necessary to lift the machine on a bridge to have access to the first plug located into the oil pan, once the first cap has been unscrewed, the oil from the pan can be drained into a suitable container. The vehicle in question is fitted with an oil bath filter which is housed inside the engine block, to empty the oil filter seat from the exhausted oil it is necessary to unscrew a second cap located above the passenger side axle shaft. After making sure that there is no more oil in the engine, you can put both caps back on and you can proceed by getting off the car from the bridge. The cover that houses the oil filter is located under the body of the diesel filter near the air filter box, so to have access to it, you will need to remove the air filter cover and the intake sleeve connected to it, yes also recommends removing the air filter to avoid any contamination of oil and diesel fuel during the operation. Once the intake system has been disassembled, the diesel filter body connected to the car can be disassembled with two quick-connect pipes and an electric pin, by unscrewing the plastic ring nut of the diesel filter body it will also be possible to replace the diesel filter with a new one in case it is necessary, once the body of the diesel filter has been removed, the support where it was housed must also be extracted, which will be fixed to the car with two nuts in the upper part. Now you will finally have access to the oil filter cover which can be unscrewed with the help of a joint wrench, once unscrewed it can be extracted from the engine and you will have access to the oil filter located inside it, so it will be enough only remove the old filter from the cover and replace it with a new one, taking care to also replace the O-ring (supplied with the new filter) located above the thread of the cover, it is also advisable to wet the new O-ring with a some oil to avoid friction when reassembled. Now it will be enough to reassemble the oil filter cover with the new filter inside, taking care not to tighten it too much and it will be possible to reassemble the body of the diesel filter and the intake system. After having reassembled everything, it will be possible to top up the new oil, taking care to check the oil level again after having carried out a first start-up lasting about one minute after the first topping up.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
