Alternator Repair Instructions

If the battery warning light remains illuminated on the dashboard, it means the alternator has stopped charging due to a fault in the regulator plate, which also includes the brushes: performing this repair is quite simple, especially as the replacement part is easy to obtain. Start by disconnecting the battery terminals, then remove the alternator from its mounting; once on the workbench, remove the plastic cover to access the plate, desolder the winding contacts, and remove the old plate to install the new one, subsequently soldering the contacts and removing the retaining clip from the brushes; then reverse the process to reinstall the alternator and ensure that after starting the engine, the battery warning light remains off.
