Replacing the Starter Motor on a Citroën Xsara 2.0 HDi

Let's look at replacing the starter motor on a Xsara Picasso. Lift the front engine cover and locate the starter motor. Disconnect the battery terminals that supply electricity to the entire car. Use a socket wrench to undo the securing bolts of the starter motor and remove it from the engine bay: disconnect the electrical terminals. Install the new starter motor by connecting the power cables and securing it with the appropriate bolts. Once the new part is installed, start the vehicle's engine.
