Citroen C4 - Video tutorial

Model: Citroen C4 MK 2 - Years 2010-2018
Part: Shock absorbers
Operation: How to replace the rear shock absorbers of a Citroen C4.

To change the rear shock absorbers, you need to lift the car. Don't rely too much on our jack, and put some spacers between our head and the car; maybe a couple of tires, since we have to remove both. To facilitate the operation of removing the shock absorbers, spray them with a loosening agent like WD-40. To remove the shock absorbers, you will need a 16mm wrench and a 13mm socket wrench. To remove the screw during disassembly, it would be better to use a jack, so as not to put too much force on the piece. When we have removed the screw, we can remove it. The socket wrench will also be used for the upper screws. Better with an extension. If we don't want to replace the shock absorber cup, we need to remove it using a loosening agent: we will put it back on the new shock absorber. When we take the new shock absorber, we need to pump it a few times to get it started. We mount the piece by reassembling the cup we had removed earlier, tightening it firmly. We position the shock absorber starting from the top and screwing it in just a little. We insert the lower screw and tighten both the upper and lower screws with the torque wrench. Now we have to repeat everything on the other side, after which we can mount the wheels and lower the car. The cost of the two shock absorbers? From 70 to 100 euros on the major e-commerce platforms.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
